In my review of the first volume, I stated the world and the story were both rather chaotic, but engaging, and that a lot for me depended on it gelling in the next volume. It did. Funny, clever, and very well told. Two thumbs up, hope it continues like this. ( )

The story continues! We have the core family and the outinlaws on the run in a wooden rocketship, trying to lose all manner of bounty hunters and the war between their species behind. Oh, this is a story.

It always is.

You haven moments that feel oh so real:

And the idea of marriage bands that double as translation rings. That would be handy a lot of times in life:

Even if there are a few problems when talking with rather crude giants. Did I mention how adult these books are?

And that... was how I met your mother.

Onward!

Marko and Alana are lovers from different species (ram head and angel wings), which are at war with each other. They continue their attempts to evade hired mercenaries, who want them and their baby dead, seeking shelter with Marko's parents, who are initially less than pleased about their relationship. Good storylines continue. Excellent illustrations from Fiona Staples. 4.5 stars. When's Volume 3 coming? ( )

SO OBSESSED. ( )

Socks rocking rockness. Still explicit, but excellent art and story make up for that. ( )
