When he learns there's a possibility Peter is still alive, he needs to find Tristan Bonnaud. His best lead is his sister, Lisette Bonnaud. They travel to Paris together, posing as man and wife. This romance is set in 1828, in post-Napoleon Paris which enhances the plot. The backstory for Tristan and Lisette is excellent, full of poignant details. The ending is magnificent, full of suspense, intrigue and the necessary happy ending. Recommended. Ms. Jeffries did a good job in fleshing out the characters fully and the plot was well put together, but the pace was a bit too slow for my liking. In the end, I must admit that I got into the story fully and am looking forward to the series.
