Weezie is getting married, and BeBe is going to have a baby quite soon. Weezie’s fiancé, Daniel, is finishing up a job in New York, and she decides to surprise him with an impromptu visit. But a super snow storm surprises them both, and strands them at the Plaza, without a room to be had. Weezie has some misadventures in the Big Apple, but it doesn’t diminish her enjoyment of the city. When Daniel is offered a permanent job there, they both will have to decide where they want to put down roots, back home in Savannah, or in New York. Meanwhile, Harry has offered to give up his fishing charter service, so he can be home more for BeBe and their child. But will he be happy in an office instead of on the open sea? There are some tense moments in this story, for all involved, but things have a way working out. After all, it is Christmas! A solid story with interesting characters combine for a delightful romantic tale. Christmas is coming, but Savannah antique dealer Weezie Foley is doubly distracted--both by her upcoming wedding to her longtime love, chef Daniel Stipanek and also by the fact that her best friend and maid-of-honor BeBe Loudermilk is due to give birth any day--and is still adamantly refusing to marry her live-in-love Harry. This was a quick and easy read with sassy and likeable characters who have ups and downs in their relationships during the Christmas season. There were a few dilemmas, a few surprises and humor to make this a fun read. Although a few websites show there is a fifth book in the series, I don’t believe it’s related as the characters are not the same. So I’m going to assume that this was the final book with Weezie and Bebe. Based on that I feel that this was the perfect ending for the series and I definitely enjoyed it. no reviews | add a review

Readers have come to love these characters in Mary Kay Andrews' three previous Savannah novels: Savannah Blues, Savannah Breeze, and Blue Christmas. Christmas Bliss offers Andrews's legions of fans the best of many things: familiar characters, a new novella for Christmas, and a celebration of Mary Key Andrews's own favorite pastime-antiquing. Blue Christmas was a fan favorite, and now Christmas Bliss is sure to fly off store shelves and into the hands of Andrews's fans in bestselling numbers"-- No library descriptions found. |
