I read this long ago, in the 1970s, and then again a few more times in the 1980s when it was part of the syllabus for the World Literature class I was teaching. It is one of my favorite works by Dickens, and one of his overall most affective works. Many of his more trying aspects are better contained. Sissy Jupe is one of his more appealing female characters.
