Blood on a Saint. Anne Emery. 2013. Well, at least Monty Collins and Father Brennan Burke are back in Halifax and at least Normie barely figures in the plot. A young woman claims she has seen the Virgin in front of Father Burke’s church and crowds gather to the point that it has become a problem for the church. Another young woman also claims to see a vision. This young woman is murdered in front of the church. A sleaze bag talk show host is accused, and Monty is appointed to defend him. Father Burke hears something in the confessional that my affect the case but he cannot reveal it. The plot moves slowly and ambles through Monty’s troubled marriage, his rock band, Burke’s love for traditional church music, and Burke’s drinking before it is resolved. This book is for readers of the previous Collins-Burke novels ( )
