Tess is seeking her sister who has been missing since they were both children. When she gets a phone call telling her to bring money and her sister will be free. However things don't go according to plan when shots are fired.

This is a pleasant, if predictable read which isn't too taxing. Although marketed as Christian, the only input are several arrow prayers at difficult times.

The end was very rushed and seemed to be done just to finish the book

Two children are kidnapped. The ransom is paid for both, but only one is returned. The parents spent the rest of their lives looking for their daughter, even creating a foundation to help reunite families with lost loved ones. Tess continues the search after her parents pass away. After years of no leads, Tess is asked to meet someone with information at night in a remote location. She is rescued by a local PI who was supposed to meet someone else about a different case. Tess's lawyer then approaches her with the news that he's found her sister but whenever she presses for more information, he puts her off.

Tess doesn't trust most people, but the PI wears down her defenses and she eventually comes to trust him. Will Tess find her sister? And will it be the lawyer's lady? ( )
