Fiction. Romance. HTML:

With his tight leather pants and a sharp edge that makes him dangerous, Jet Keller is every girl's rock and roll fantasy. But Ayden Cross is done walking on the wild side with bad boys. She doesn't want to give in to the heat she sees in Jet's dark, haunted eyes. She's afraid of getting burned from the sparks of their spontaneous combustion, even as his touch sets her on fire.

Jet can't resist the Southern Belle with mile-long legs in cowboy boots who defies his every expectation. Yet the closer he feels to Ayden, the less he seems to know her. While he's tempted to get under her skin and undo her in every way, he knows firsthand what happens to two people with very different ideas about relationships.

Will the blaze burn into an enduring love. . . or will it consume their dreams and turn them to ashes?

Don't miss the latest bad boy in Jay Crownover's unforgettable New Adult series.

Oh Jet and Ayden, I really enjoyed them as a couple in this second installment of the Marked Men series by Jay Crownover. The theme of opposites attract from the first book still take residence in the second book of the series. I foresee an underline theme here, and it works with these characters.

On the surface Jet and Ayden look to want different things in life. Jet is a musician, he lives and breathes his art form. He is tattooed and pierced and doesn’t have a regard for stability and a “normal” profession. He lives life by his own terms. Ayden, wants the complete opposite of Jet. She wants normal, she wants stability. She wants the complete opposite of her childhood. However, sometimes the heart doesn’t always listen to what the brian thinks is right. Jet and Ayden have a fiery sexual tension. They try to keep each other at bay until they no longer can, and when they come together it is fireworks. Their road is not easily paved, past insecurities, and estranged family member throw cause the majority of the conflict in their relationship. Jay Crownover does a nice job of showing how they work through their issues.

The supporting characters are great. If you have read the first book you will be familiar with them. They are family of friends. It is great to catch up with Rule and Shaw, and get a deeper insight to the other characters in this group of knit tight friends.

I thought Jet was a great read. I can’t wait to read the third book in the series, Rome. Although these books can be read as stand alone novels, there is a great overall arch between the first two books that I hope continues throughout the rest of the series. Jet was another great read in the Marked Men series. ( )

First Impressions
Jet is a story that brings together some great dynamics of a opposites attract romance. There is something so wonderful in reading from this author. I absolutely loved how this story was brought together. And while its not a perfect story especially in how the third act plays out, I really enjoyed how Crownover brought this book together. There are many dramatics in this romance that are implemented but there is such a strong connection between Jet and Ayden. There is some hidden conflicts with how their pasts come to them and how each of them face up to them and learning to stand for each other.

First Line
It was totally against everything I was supposed to be doing in my new life--to ask a really cute boy in a band to take me home.

Summary
Jet is a story that brings together a opposites attract story. This is a book where our hero is a rock star of sorts with unique tastes in metal. Our heroine, is a small town southern girl and these two couldn't have more differences in music that you could find. But there is a powerful chemistry between them. We see them build a solid friendship, and even though there is great chemistry between them, Ayden is in a relationship with a solid good man but who is dull for her and doesn't really do anything for her. But due to her past, Ayden is more about someone boring and dull, than for the excitement and thrill. Jet is determined to show her he is who she needs, and that no matter the mistakes in her past, to face them together and not alone. But Ayden has worked hard to be so independent, that it takes a patient Jet to help Ayden realize her own strength and the power in fighting for the one you love..

What I Loved
Jet was such a wonderful story, I absolutely had a blast with this one. And even though it wasn't perfect, this author is becoming my catnip even when there are elements in a story that aren't my favorite to read. Jay Crownover really adds more edge to the typical contemporary that I truly enjoy reading. The first aspect that I was first drawn to was the differences that set these apart but despite those differences these two are able to find their common ground. They might seem too difference on the surface, but it becomes clear very quickly how well they connect and what an intense connection that they have for each other.

I really adored the hero. He is a bit of a playboy in beginning, but he is a man that doesn't apologize and isn't ashamed about himself. The hero always is in a emotional battle with his parents as his father is abusive and his mother just accepts it. Then we have our heroine who has put herself in a image that showcases her being this bubbly nice girl, but in truth, she has made many mistakes in her youth. There are many dimensioins to the depths of these characters that I really enjoyed and Crownover really keeps you engaged with their growth. The romance between them is delectable. I was so easily drawn to their relationship, especially once they decide to go all in for each other. The hero is such a fighter for the relationship in the third act that just had me all over the place with him.

What I Struggled With
Probably not to anyone's shock, but I really didn't like the heroine especially in how she acts in the third act. I know this is how authors just love to add conflict into the story, but you can bet I won't give it a five star when its like this. The heroine burns the hero and guess who grovels??? Well its not the heroine. The hero does a grovel and he doesn't really have anything to apologize for. The heroine is a bit of a basket case mentally. I am not sure why she thinks Jet wouldn't understand, its not like he had a perfect home life or anything. So I do wish that we had seen more action on her part to fight for the relationship in the end.

Overall View
Jet is a engaging, heartfelt, a bit of drama but plenty of spice and loveable characters to keep you all in for this pair and their journey to together....

He sings to me at night and it makes my heart hurt. The way he looks at me, I feel like he’s trying to pull me apart and put me back together in an even better way.”

“Sometimes, things need to change, because there just isn’t any way for them to stay the same.”

“We can’t pick our families or where we come from, Jet. All we can choose is who we want to become in spite of them, and because of them.”

This was such a disappointment compared to Rule which I gave 5 stars to because I loved it. This book is nothing like it! It is so hard to find a series that are all really good. This authors formula worked....so why change it?? The ONLY thing I liked about Ayden was her name. She was the epitome of stupid/door mat. I skimmed a lot of it and really only enjoyed the end when they finally got their shit together. Yes....that happened at the very end of the book. I would have loved this if they had been together fighting all this family drama throughout the book. I loved Jet but he got robbed big time. Ayden was selfish....it was all about her feelings, family, and drama. ( )

Full Review on my blog!

First off, I’ve been loving this series so far! I absolutely loved Rule, and immediately ordered the rest of the series after finishing the first novel.

Jet is a story about a couple who aren’t as different as they seem to think. Jet and Ayden have been attracted to each other from the moment they met. Ayden is a country girl from Kentucky with a past that she isn’t proud of and Jet is a rock and roll musician that every girl dreams of falling in love with. They are living as roommates trying to keep a platonic relationship, but still having to deal with these romantic feelings that they try to hide from each other.

I think it could have been a bit longer with more of their relationship developing. Overall, this is a great read and I will be continuing with the next book in the series. I highly recommend it!
