Andrew Jackson Sowell (June 27, 1815 - January 4, 1883) was a lifelong soldier and farmer in the 19th-century. He was a participant in the Texas Revolution and a survivor of the siege of the Alamo. He continued his service during the years of the Republic of Texas, in the Mexican American War, and the Civil War. He was a frontier defender, early Texas Ranger, and a friend and scout with Kit Carson. No library descriptions found. |
