I am so surprised by the low ratings. I read this after loving her current book, Bird Catcher. Many of the same themes are present - women finding their way after an unexpected event, art - commercial vs. what is truly creative. Jacobs is a wonderful writer - i found myself savoring every word. I like her female characters - they are independent and creative. ( )
