Full of great ideas for making breakfast classics you own. Also, I found my go-to whole grain pancake recipe. ( )

I received a review copy of Whole-Grain Mornings by Megan Gordon (Ten Speed Press) through NetGalley.com.

Boy-oh-boy does Megan Gordon like breakfast. Lots more than I do, certainly. This isn't a book for the quick coffee and toast crowd, but if you have the inclination or obligation to prepare solid breakfasts, this book is full of good ideas. It might be THE breakfast book for B&B owners.

Some of Ms Gordon's breakfast foods are simple and some are complex. The recipes are clear and include estimated prep time, which is critical for weekday planning. The recipes are grouped seasonally, always a nice touch. Ms Gordon includes some ideas seldom considered for breakfast in the USA (like the fried rice eaten for breakfast all over Asia) but this diversity only enhances the value of the book.

I would definitely recommend this for B&B owners and for caterers who do lots of brunches. ( )
