A murder mystery and love story set in wartime Bahamas, I liked this novel by Kate Furnivall, although it still does not capture the magic of her first few books (I loved the Russian Concubine, the Red Scarf, etc.). The incorporation of real historical figures, like the Duke of Windsor and Wallis Simpson, spices up this novel and I was intrigued by the postscript, which indicated that the novel was based on an actual murder. Fun reading & I enjoyed reading about the locale, especially during some cold winter days! ( )
