First, I won this book on Librarything in exchange for an honest review. This was a wonderful gothic, dark historical romance. I love getting to read a really good love story and this was one of those love stories. I could not put it down. I cannot wait to read more by Erica Ridley! I would recommend this to anyone wanting to read a really good love story!! ( )

For lovers of Gothic romance

Ms. Ridley has fashioned yet another fine Gothic romance. Impossible choices, who is trapped and who seeks sanctuary? The only criticism might be more steam than was absolutely necessary, too much "nippling" and in the end (spoiler alert) she gives him head and they all live happily ever after. A strong story, and I'm not averse to the steamy parts, but Victoria Holt managed to write dozens of Gothics without any. ( )

Don’t shoot me but I never heard of this author, and honestly I don’t recall how I got to have this book. If you’re a blogger like me, you know exactly what I mean. I have two email accounts that are flooded by requests for reviews and sometimes it all is a huge blur…but I’m digressing…

I really don’t care how or who introduced me to this author, because I’m just glad that they did.

Erica Ridley wrote one of the best ‘Jane Eyre’ type stories around. The best part of books like this is the plot, then the characters and in this case both were ....thanks for jumping to b2b to finish reading my review ...
