My library shelves this with the picture books, but personally I'd catalog it in with the juvenile non-fiction instead. It's heavy on informational text for a traditional picture book. ( )

Dark clouds fill the sky and soon its raining! In this story Gail give detailed text that explains, the water cycle, cloud formations, and various rain events are all part of a solid overview of rain and how it affects the world around us. The bright watercolors and simple, descriptive text are perfect for explaining weather and climate to young readers.
