This was such a fantastic addition to this series! So much action in this one and a crazy cliffhanger ending...wow! ( )

Book three in the Land of Stories kids' series, about an alternate dimension full of fairy tale characters and the twin brother and sister who discover they have an important connection to it. In this one, they have to deal with a two-hundred-year-old army that is coming with the intention of conquering the Land of Stories for Napoleon, among other things.

I thought the first two books were fun, if a little slow to get going, but I'm afraid I didn't find this one nearly as engaging. Honestly, I thought the plot was a bit dull -- much more so than it seemed like it should have been, given the premise -- and a lot of the story details just didn't quite work for me. It did read pretty fast, but somehow it felt like it was dragging a bit, anyway.

Oh, well. At least I still find this series' version of Little Red Riding Hood weirdly entertaining. And it this installment does set up some potentially interesting mysteries for the second half of the series. ( )

Entertaining and fun, but darker than the previous ones. Nice touch with the historical component. ( )

The Land of Stories: A Grimm Warning was a great book. It's unique and has a great ending. The twins, Conner and Alex are very extraordinary people in an ordinary world. They have magic in their blood and can easily travel to a different dimension called The Fairy-Tale World. They found 3 years before that they had magical blood and relatives with magical blood. Their grandmother is... Cinderella's fairy Godmother!

The story starts with a french army called The Grande Armee being tricked int a magical portal into the Fairy Tale World by the Brothers Grimm. If you didn't know that only a person with magical blood and get in and out fast. but that's not the case. I think every one can assume that nobody in or from France have magical blood so guess what happened to that army...They were trapped there for 200 years! And surprise, surprise they didn't know a a single thing about the modern world. They knew that they didn't know their way around so they went to the most high security prison in the Fairy Tale World. The prison was named Pinocchio Prison, which was made for the most dangerous criminals in the world. they recruited a strange person who was once the Fairy Godmother's son until she found out that he wanted to take over the world. Back in the modern world Conner was missing his sister who was currently in the FTW. but then one was given a chance to a trip to London to see the brothers Grimm's last stories that were secretly a warning. So in panic Conner and another one of his peers , Bree , abandoned the school trip and traveled all over Europe to get to Germany. In a village in Germany hosts a castle with a secret portal to the FTW. In the end The Fairy Godmother dies slaying a dragon.

I give this book a 5 out of 5 because it was so unique and used a different way to beat the enemy. i recommend this book to Harry Potter readers because i know how it feels to finish Harry Potter and wanting to read another book with magic. Undoubtedly the BEST book in the series ( )
