When looking at this book it is a great tool for children to learn about a country that many children don’t know about. This book discusses things such as; animals, food, medicine, and many others. The importance of this book is for the children to gain knowledge about the history of India and how they contribute to the world economically and scientifically. ( )

The book Look What Came From India is an informative book packed full of information about India. The Look What Came From series written by Miles Harvey informs us about things that came from other countries and gives us insight into the food, language, religion and culture of each country.
Harvey discusses inventions from India, such as the first bathroom which we are all thankful for! Harvey also tells us facts about religion in India, foods native to India and typical Indian meals, musical instruments unique to India, native animals, games, fashion and even teaches us some Indian words and phrases.
The book accurately describes inventions and discusses Indian life. Look What Came From India is most appropriate for children in first thru fifth grades and would tie in with lessons exploring inventions, animals, nutrition, and other cultures.
