Taylor Dean’s I’m With You will not only tug at your heartstrings, it will break your heart and put it back together again. Making the hard choices is when you really know you are alive.

I cannot imagine the paralyzing effect losing a child would have on me. Taylor Dean does an amazing job of wringing every drop of emotion from me, but leaving me satisfied at the end.

Child loss. Trisomy 18 – incompatible with life.

The heartwrenching decision. Hope. Compassion. Love. Romance.

Taylor even includes a couple of cleaning tips while Chloe is cleaning house. It is writing like this that keeps Taylor Dean’s stories “real”.

Catastrophes draw some people closer, while tearing others apart. Each person must find their way of dealing with what little control there is left in life when tragedy strikes. . The characters are so developed and complex, I feel as if I know them, some friends, others not so much.

Two women, so totally different…and Jack. Chloe is just too nice, in my book. I want her to kick some Tanya ass and maybe even smack Jack up side the head and tell him to get real. I got very pissed at Jack, and even Chloe at times. I wanted to punch Mark in the face. What a dip shit. I was so angry the last third of the book…Men…but, it is true, Men Are From Mars and Women Are From Venus. We all deal with things in our own way…to survive.

When I think the worst is over, Taylor throws even more terrible angst my way. I knew it was too easy for Happy Ever After. Something else had to happen. I kept waiting for the proverbially other shoe to drop. It did more than drop, it collapsed!

I’m With You left me wrung out, emotionally spent. I sat in silence, regrouping.

As I read about Jerad tears filled my eyes. I had to pause before reading Taylor’s note. Trisomy 18 is real and personal for her and her family and I would like to thank them so much for sharing their story.

I received a copy of I'm With You by Taylor Dean in return for an honest review.

The excerpt from this book says: Can three little words irrevocably change your life?

When the doctors inform Chloe Brennan that her pregnancy is “incompatible with life,” her subsequent choices will change her path forever.

She becomes one of the quiet, unsung heroes of this world, incredibly strong, yet somehow wrongly looked upon as damaged.

Three people will pierce Chloe’s existence: her husband, a stranger, and a precious baby.

One will say goodbye, one will say hello, and one will say both at the same time.

I’m With You is a novel about selfless love and the sacredness of life.

This book touched me in so many ways. It is a wonderful book dealing with a loss that is greater than anyone should ever have to endure. Everyone deals with loss in different ways, but the grief of losing a baby is so deep, so painful, so consuming and so misunderstood.
It shows the sadness of deep loss and grieving and being alone to deal with it. Everyone expects Chloe to move on, forget about it, get a life. She can't and no one understands, not even her husband Mark. She wanted this baby more than anything. Even if she could only hold him for 5 minutes. Her husband, who was the love of her life, walks out on her. He can't deal with her grieving anymore. It tells what happens to one woman dealing with all of these feelings and more; and how one friendship helps her to see that she's not broken.
It is a story that will touch you in ways that you'll never forget. Make you laugh, cry, get angry and love to hate some of the characters. Jack whose wife ran off with Mark, starts getting to know Chloe and sees that she is grieving and he is very worried about her. When they start getting to know each other she finally confides in him in ways that she has not been able to with anyone else.
It's a love story, a story of both hope and lost hope. A wonderful story that will keep you turning the pages to find out what will happen next.
You would have to be a robot not to feel what is happening in this book. All the ups and downs. The new loves and lost loves. Who will be able to fall in love again. Will Chloe take Mark back or will she move on with her life now that she has finally learned how to live again. What will happen to Jack. Will his wife be able to get him to forgive him and love her again?
You can bet that once you start this book you will not be able to put it down. It is told in a way that makes you feel like you are right there with each character, dealing with the emotions they are. It will definitely make you cry, it did me. Some parts made me cry so hard but it was worth it. If you can't feel the characters then it is not a good book and this one pulls you in from beginning to end. You will be laughing one minute, crying the next and wanting to punch someone in the end. It is a wonderful book that was written from the heart. This author did a fantastic job of portraying feelings that were real.
My favorite book of all time and will stay with me for a long time to come if not forever.
It is a 5 star read no doubt about it. I hope you will love it as much as I did, even through the tears.. There was romance, love and laughter too so not just a book that will keep you down. It is wonderful and be sure to read the last few pages at the end of the book. They explain so so much. ( )

“Sometimes life doesn’t go as planned. Sometimes life is happy, fun and filled with laughter. But sometimes life is hard and filled with trials. Sometimes life knocks us down and it’s really hard to get back up again.” (e-ARC, I'm With You).

Dean has managed to write yet another story that pulls at heart strings on many levels. She writes about the hard parts of life…the parts of life that knock us down. She writes about the journey it takes to find the way back to standing. She writes with such authenticity that even though the story is based on a very sad and tragic situation, it is also true, hopeful and real.

“She didn’t have to get over it and she didn’t have to move on. She just needed to live. Breathe. Put one foot in front of the other.” (e-ARC, I'm With You).

You are pulled into the story because the characters are broken, real…fleshed out beautifully. Dean created characters that felt so real, like I could reach into the book and see them, touch them. I have never had a crush on a character in a book until now…oh Jack I love thee!!!! The dynamic of Jack and Chloe is one of the best romantic tragedies…you root for them, yell at them, grieve with them and become part of them. I loved that there was little predictability in the story, because isn’t that what life is…many unpredictable moments mixed with both happiness and grief.

"Contrary to popular belief, time doesn't heal all wounds, but it does put a band-aid on them. That's about it, though. Some things in life are always raw and painful." (e-ARC, I'm With You).

Dean has now become one of my favorite authors. She has managed, yet again, to write a book that will resonate with me long after I finish. A book I will recommend over and over again. Dean took a personal and very difficult situation and turned it into a story both therapeutic for herself, but also helpful to so many others out there who have suffered the same loss. She did a brilliant job and I rate this book 5 stars! Well done, Dean, so well done! ( )
