More craziness with everyone's favorite Runaways. It picks up soon after the first volume ends. They’re still trying to help people, and there’s even more to help with now that the Pride doesn’t have a firm grip on exactly what the bad guys can and can’t do.

They also go up against more than one group that thinks that the Runaways are bad and the groups are good. They get to meet Spider-Man and they help Cloak try and save his partner Dagger.

They also find a couple more Runaways who join their band at different points. Xavin, an almost Super Skrull who comes to sorta woo Karolina (I didn’t totally like that part of the story line, although I didn’t totally dislike it either, I had complicated feelings about it). And Victor. Now, Victor’s story line was pretty darn interesting. ( )

In this collection, the Runaways are back together - Nico, Karolina, Gert, Chase, and Molly. They're fighting crime in LA, trying to make up for their parents' evil, and living under the La Brea tar pits. A future version of Gert arrives in a time machine to make a dire warning about Victor Mancha, a.k.a. Victorious: "His father is a villain from your time...the greatest evil in the universe." Gert-from-the-future dies, and the remaining Runaways must find Victor in the present.

An unbeknownst-to-her fiance arrives to take Karolina back to their home planet, and she agrees to go for the sake of peace between the two planets (but the marriage fails to bring peace, and the two return to Earth).

Alex's old gamer buddies discover his true identity and try to resurrect him, but end up with his father, Geoffrey Wilder, instead; so at least one member of The Pride is on the prowl, determined to regain his wife and son. In a battle in the final issue, Wilder kills Gert before returning to the past, and Chase steals his decoder ring and vows revenge.

"Knowing about your past is the only way that you can protect your future." (Nico to Victor, issue 4)

[Victor and Gert's amazed faces]
[Spiderman descends]
"Yes. I'm Batman."
(issue 11)

"So you don't believe in fate or whatever?"
"Nah, that's just a word people use to explain away terrible things they probably could have prevented. If we're nothing more than a bunch of performers acting out somebody else's story, then all of our crummy decisions have already been made for us. Me, I think people should be held accountable for their mistakes." (Nico and Gert, issue 15)
