This is a how-to decorating book featuring sophisticated interiors in a wide range of styles - spanning the spectrum from modern to traditional, from bohemian to more formal. The focus throughout is on learning to follow your intuition and your heart to create interiors that are deeply personal to you. These beautiful interiors feel accessible accompanied by Salk's encouraging and chatty design tips. Quotes by the designers explaining their philosophy are interspersed throughout the text. The book is divided into chapters according to the room of the house (Living Room, Dining Room, Bedroom, Entry Halls, Functional Rooms (kitchens, bathrooms, mud rooms). Each chapter showcases a variety of styles to illustrate the limitless possibilities personal expression can take. Featuring work by leading designers including Ashley Hicks, Jay Jeffers, Katie Ridder, Mary McDonald, the Novogratzs, Robert Couturier, and Eddie Ross, with images by the top interiors photographers, this beautiful volume is inspiring with its quirky yet sophisticated interiors and liberating with its message to follow your heart with your interior design.… (more)
