This book contains little text and is mostly about the pictures. Most of the pages are a two page spread with a type of dog taking up the majority of the space. While the large dog performs an action such as scratching, the text informs the reader that it is a "scratchy dog", and then scatters words across the page that are sounds the dog would be making. This book is pretty simple, but would be cute to have around for preschool children.

A fun book to have if you like dogs; and we do! A simple rhyme, and in encourages the children to bark along with you as you read. The pictures are simple and fun to look at too. ( )
