This is the story of a farmer and clown becoming friends. This sweet story tells so much without using any words, everyone needs someone. This book could be used to introduce predictions and inferences. ( )

This wordless picture book has great illustrations that shows how a baby clown gets lost and how an old man takes care of him. This book can be used as students write their own dialogue. Students are also able to make predictions of what they think is happening in the illustrations. ( )

This book could be used for any grade level because it teaches many different life principles and concepts. The Farmer and the Clown is a wordless picture book about a small clown who falls off of a circus train and lands in a farmer's field. The lonely farmer takes in the clown and treats him with compassion and kindness. Eventually the circus train drives through the town again, and the farmer helps the clown reunite with his family. This book should be used in the classroom for making predictions and inferences by looking for and using small details within the story. ( )

The circus is leaving town on a train when a small toddler clown falls off of the train and lands close to the land of the farmer. The farmer witnesses what happens and goes to check on the little clown he takes the clown into his home and the clown begins to mimck the behavior of the farmer. When he does this he accidentally washes his face paint and feels embarresed. The next morning they both engage in farm activities like milking the cows. When they go outsidde to have a picnic they see a train heading there way. They run to the train and sure enough it is the same train he fell from and his family is waiting to greet him. The little boy says goodbye and switches hats with the farmer. When the train leaves there is a monkey from the circus that has been left behind. This is a nice story for children to read because it allows them to come up with there own version of what they think is happening in the book. It is a great book for all grade levels. ( )

This is a heartfelt, rather strange wordless picture book about a clown and a farmer. The clown gets bumped off of his train and the farmer takes him in. Over time the farmer and the clown develop a nice friendship.

I would use this book in my classroom by having the students make predictions about the story since there are no words to help tell the story. After the book was talked about, I would have them infer what would happen after the end of the story. ( )
