Not only did I spot a number (and I mean a large number) of books that I'd like to sample, but I was reminded of several authors whose work I enjoyed so long ago that I have forgotten the plots and whodunnit and could very well read it again. I bought this from a used bookseller because I heard the author (who now writes a couple of her own mystery series)speak at our local library. ( ) Although books of this type can never be deemed as fully up-to-date,this is still one of the more useful Reference Books dealing with the subject of British Crime and Mystery writing that I have come across. There are 121 authors here with their novels listed with dates of publication and publisher. We are also given a short description of the story and in most cases the name of the main character in the book. The book concludes with several useful lists which include 1. Characters and Creators, 2. Occupations of Series Characters, 3. Period in which the story is set, 4. Locations outside England, 5. Settings and so on. no reviews | add a review
