This is the perfect resting place for the series. Spoilers are hard to avoid in discussing this book, so all I will tell you is that I cried in sorrow several times and rejoiced several times. There is more to come, but you could stop here and be content.

You'll need to have read the other three books first. Do savor the artwork; there are hints there. ( )

Conclusion to the "Original Quest" arc started in Book 1. Longest of the four. Cutter and his tribe go to war with the trolls in the frozen wastes in order to gain control of the elves' ancestral home, The Palace, and find out once and for all who -- and what -- they really are. Riveting story and gorgeous artwork. The war is thrilling, but the violence isn't glamorized at all. Wonderful end to a fabulous story arc.
