Who cut off Medusaís head? Who was raised by a she-bear? Who tamed Pegasus? And whatever happened to that Golden Fleece?
It takes a demigod to know the answers, and Percy Jackson can fill you in on all the daring deeds of Perseus, Atalanta, Bellerophon, and the rest of the major Greek heroes. Told in the funny, irreverent style listeners have come to expect from Percy (Iíve had some bad experiences in my time, but the heroes Iím going to tell you about were the original old-school hard-luck cases. They boldly screwed up where no one had screwed up before. . . .), this story collection will become the new must-have classic for Rick Riordanís legions of devoted fansóand for anyone who needs a hero.

I liked this book, but I didn't love it. It's a good book for kids to learn more about Greek mythology. There's loads of pop culture references and things that will make you giggle. Overall a good companion novel. ( )

Fun retellings of Greek myths with Percy's classic sass. This book focuses on Greek heroes in particular, and I loved that almost half of the heroes were female. Uncle Rick is always thinking about representation and he's awesome because of it. ( )

This is the first Percy Jackson book I've read (though I think I heard about other ones from either my nephew or my friend's children). It's an attempt to update the Greek Myths for today's teens by using a narrator (Percy Jackson) who uses phrases that teens use these days.

I'm quite a bit older than that target audience. I knew most of the stories already (although I hadn't read them in quite some time). I found the updated narration parts a bit distracting. The audiobook narrator does a good job of making it sound like a teen/young adult narrator. ( )

Just got the american version of this book. I had bought it in italian, but we don't get the pictures... Some of them are really pretty and they get you to read much more because you want to KNOW more about it all and the drawings themselves. I think it would help kids as well to focus more :) ( )
