NATIONAL BESTSELLER Jackson Steele and Sylvia Brooks continue to thrill in the second novel of a scintillating, emotionally charged trilogy that returns to the world of J. Kenner's beloved Stark novels: Release Me, Claim Me, and Complete Me.   I never thought I'd lose control, but his desire took me right to the edge.   Powerful, ambitious, and devastatingly sexy, Jackson Steele was unlike any other man I'd ever known. He went after what he wanted with his whole mind, body, and soul--and I was the woman in his sights. One touch and I surrendered, one night together and I was undone.   Jackson and I had secrets, dark pieces of our pasts that threatened to swallow us both. We couldn't outrun our demons, or the people trying to tear us apart. But in our passion we found salvation, and in each other's arms we found release.   I was scared to trust Jackson fully, to finally let go. Yet no matter the dangers that lay ahead, I knew I was his--and now that we've laid claim, there's no more holding back. Praise for On My Knees   "Kenner brings sizzling heat and high-pitched emotional tension to this second installment of her Stark International trilogy . . . with a taut plotline and plenty of searing interludes."--RT Book Reviews   "Kenner once again grabs a hold of your thoughts and shakes the feels out of you. Secrets abound. Truths are exposed. Vulnerabilities are laid bare. . . . Basically, I'm floating in an ocean of Jackson Steele paradise. . . . [On My Knees] keeps you on the edge of pleasure and captures your interest with the threat of exposure."--Obsessed with Myshelf   "[The] heat quotient is very high, with Jackson and Sylvia . . . burning up the pages. . . . This is something I've come to expect from J. Kenner and she never disappoints. If you're looking for a very hot, sexy read with a suspenseful storyline that keeps you guessing to the last page, On My Knees is definitely one to give a try."--Cocktails and Books   "Hot! Running the gamut from fast and wild to slow and tender, the love scenes were intense and wonderfully written. . . . This trilogy is just getting better and better as we learn more about Sylvia's resiliency and Jackson's caring side. . . . Readers will devour this book and be waiting on pins and needles . . . to find out how it all ends in the upcoming finale."--Harlequin Junkie   "J. Kenner is on my automatic-purchase list and with very good reason. . . . [This book] sizzles with both sensuality and a complex plotline! . . . Pick up a copy of On My Knees as soon as possible!"--Plot Twist Reviews   "Fans of J. Kenner, you know that where there's a really engaging story line there's equally engaging heat and passion. There's no shortage of that here. . . . It's powerful, it's sexy, it's downright naughty at times and it's hot."--Diary of an Eager Reader   "A great read for any contemporary romance readers who like their plots with a side of steam and a big helping of secrets and suspense . . . If you enjoyed Damien and Nikki's story you will definitely be a fan of this series."--Reads All the Books… (more)

It’s good for a ‘middle’ book -
“Sometimes families have secrets,” his father had said.

Yes, it’s a serial. But the way J. Kenner makes the introduction in Chapter 1; you could read to catch up. I highly recommend you get book one though just so you can get more of Jackson Steele. I want to also write ahead: Yes, I did like the book. If you are a fan, get it. If you have read the Stark International serial, you’ll want to.

Normally, I don’t start my reviews with the recommendation, but felt I needed to due to my comments that will follow. I loved both characters Jackson and Sylvia. They both have secrets, Jackson more so than Sylvia. The steamy scenes are very frequent and hot! I’m glad I finished the book.
Confession: I hate reviews that tell me the story. Ugh hate spoilers. So I often avoid blogs for that reason. I accidentally went to one of my favorite blogs where they listed this on their DNF at 43%. I have to confess - I agreed with them up to this point. Lots of hot action but no real story to pull you in. But similar to Damien’s story, once you started peeling back the layers of Jackson’s secrets, the story pulled me in.

This isn’t my favorite of Ms. Kenner’s books, but I feel it’s a necessary read for the next one. This ended perfectly to keep me interested in continuing the series. Stars would be a 3.25 for this book. 4.25 for the hot scenes!

Loved the book. I think the chemistry that J. Kenner has put into Sylvia and Jackson is amazing and I like a little mystery with this guy. The story is great. I read it so fast the first time I had to take a breath and then went back and read it again. I just got the third book and can't wait to dive in. ( )

This is another one of those books that I really enjoyed, but I don't have a ton to say about it. I hate when that happens.

Jackson and Sylvia are continuing to build their relationship, their very hot and steamy relationship. Secrets continue to trickle out... and they are whoppers. No small secrets in this book. But even though there is some of that off the cuff running away after a secret or fight, I like that the couple is coming back together to talk it out. It shows logic and maturity - something that I find sorely lacking in many new adult books today. (I know this isn't technically NA, but it's close I think.)

Reed, the scumbag, is still the antagonist. After Jackson punched him out in the first book, he gets even more skeezy. I kinda got aggravated at the situation b/c I don't understand why they wouldn't report him for creating and possessing child porn? But I'm trying to go with the flow and see what plays out. I think it sticks out to me because it goes against the reasonable and logical mindsets of Jackson and Sylvia. (And maybe the angst from the NA books is making me think these characters are reasonable just because they act more mature and I'm not used to it? Who knows.)

Anywho, I continue to enjoy this unfolding relationship. I like Jackson and Sylvia together. The couple's tragic pasts have served to create a really strong emotional draw to the characters. Huge cliffhanger at the end... you are warned!

Side note: this book mentions things that happened in Damien Stark's past. If you are like me and have not been able to finish the first series, they may be some spoilers here or you may be lost. I was a little lost myself... so I am motivated to go back and finish the Stark trilogy.

4 stars / 4 flames. ( )
