Van 25 augustus tot en met 10 september 2006 liep in het Gentse Sint-Elisabethbegijnhof en in de gelijknamige kerk een tentoonstelling die de vier geloofsgemeenschappen voorstelde die in het begijnhof hun stek gevonden hadden: katholieken, anglicanen, protestanten en orthodoxen. De focus lag op verschillende aspecten: de historische achtergrond van elke geloofsgemeenschap, de wijze waarop zij zich vestigden in het begijnhof, waar zij voordien gevestigd waren, de manier waarop zij hun religie vroeger beleefden en er vandaag vorm aan geven, de gelijkenissen en verschillen omtrent het in de praktijk brengen van de religie, de architectuur van de gebouwen, kunstvoorwerpen uit de verschillende religies en de oecumene. Al deze aspecten komen in de catalogus aan bod.
