In terms of advanced technical instrruction, this is a lightweight effort. Other books in this library, such as those by Langford or Mack and Martin offer greater depth and comprehension.

This book is a useful reference book for traditional film photographers. The bulk of the book talks about film processing and darkroom practices. A lot of attention to devoted on getting proper exposures for varying conditions. While the book is a bit dry and dated, it still acts as a valuable reference tool for the advanced photographer using film and wanting to understand the nuances of processing. Additionally, the book goes over a little bit of everything in terms of traditional photography, including descriptions of chemicals, lighting, and view cameras. ( )
