Fascinating and horrific story which was not written to be either. It was written merely to be a diary of daily life in Auschwitz. As such reading it is a strange experience. It describes life in the camp with out dwelling on the death and torture that was so prevalent, but mentioning these in almost a casual way. This was a facinating read of the depths to which human existence can plummet in a world gone mad, where prejudice and anti-semetism are allowed to exist unchecked. How the Nazi anti-semetism could reach this level in civilized, 20th century countries is something that can never be fully understood. no reviews | add a review
