I guess if you live in a town named Mistake, you need a sense of humor! Mistake is known for its fishing, especially for Muskies. Muskies are so synonymous with the town, that many residents have Muskie mailboxes and the school mascot is a Muskie. When the Muskie mailboxes go missing, it's a big deal! A local administrator even uses it as a public reason to cancel the local holiday Opening Day. Privately though, he is using this to divert the town's attention from a deal he is trying to make where he gives a building permit to a bait shop chain in exchange for a boathouse building permit.

Teen reporter Megan Svenson somehow unravels the missing mailbox mystery and orchestrates things to throw suspicion off her fellow students. Her show more efforts also uncover the boathouse issue.

A humorous read with lots of Wisconsin references.
