Es el dol que fa la autora després de la mort del seu home. ( )

A la mort del seu marit ens explica records de la seva vida. Escriu el llibre per superar el dol. Els personatges no són creibles, però hi han moments interessants d'emoció continguda. ( )

Tot i que el ritme narratiu és una mica irregular, aquest llibre aconsegueix transmetre una emotivitat constant que et captiva totalment sense caure en el sentimentalisme fàcil. I tenint en compte que l'obra és gairebé el 100% autobiogràfica, era un perill evident que la Monsó ha evitat molt bé.

L'estructura dels capitols, que alternen la narració de com l'autora va conèixer el seu home i la història de què va significar la seva mort, és un dels punts forts del llibre. Et permet anar coneixent, de mica en mica, una gran història d'amor, i també de mica en mica vas entenent perquè aquesta pèrdua és tant dolorosa per a l'autora/protagonista. Alternar moments feliços amb d'altres absolutament desesperants permet destensar els moments de major tensió emotiva, que es farien insuportables si se succeïssin un darrere l'altre.

Gràcies a aquesta obra m'he fet a la idea de què pot significar i de com et pots arribar a sentir si perds aquells a qui més estimes. I demostra que la desesperació i la tristesa poden arribar a ser extraordinariament creatives si es canalitzen perquè fructifiquin, per tal que no siguin un sentiment erm, estèril. ( )

Realitat novel·lada, vaig sentir-me molt a prop de l'autora mentre el llegia perquè ella em va deixar entrar molt endins. És un comiat d'algú que ha estimat, estima i estimarà molt. El llibre té diverses lectures, i no en el sentit figurat sinó en el sentit literal del terme. Imprescindible. ( )
