Amazon.com Amazon.com Review (ISBN 043916446X, Paperback)

Hopsalot the rabbit welcomes his animal pals to his house on a rainy day. Each animal arrives with more items than the previous one--from one book to nine buckets of paint. They decide to paint a picture of a sunny day, and when the weather outside clears up, they're inspired to add a rainbow to their picture. This 32-page book reinforces the letters, sounds, words, and concepts presented in the kindergarten level of the JumpStart workbooks, featuring the characters from the JumpStart educational software program. Younger children will be able to identify the words for numbers and basic colors in the text as well as some of the familiar character names. Beginning readers will be able to handle most of the other words as well. Tips about reading with children are included inside the front cover. (Ages 3 to 6) --Marcie Bovetz
