I liked the pace of this mystery: no quagmire of flailing in possibilities. The snappy pace left the characters slightly underdeveloped but not desperately so. The plot was decent. It was obvious this is part of a series but I happily managed it as a stand alone, thanks to the author's care to fill in necessary back details. (
