Unlike the first book, this one is filled with tragedy. The tragedy of sinful choices and drunkenness.
Katy with her fighting spirit doing her best to help the Christian kids theater, Wayne with his search for fulfillment, John looking for answers to his dilemma, and Ashley missing her mom while struggling about her dad, all four in need of something. None of them knowing what to do in this novel.
Forgiven is such a powerful thing and as the title says this is a story of forgiveness, each chapter pores out more hurt and you’ll wonder if these families will find the strength to forgive.
As in the first book there are some things like sleeping together, living together, and other things that make this better for 16/18 up.
And a struggling character looks to false religions for help and that is bright up quite a bit throughout the book.
Bailey was intriguing and I liked seeing a younger character with the slightly older characters, in this one I think that Bailey was my favorite since I got to see her breakdown grow so much. Though I do dislike all of the younger girls swooning over boys. It’s just not something I enjoy reading about. Neither was the kissing between Dayne and Katy…
