I had trouble getting into the story at first, and set this down for a few months before I was able to pick it back up. I am glad that I did. While not enraptured by the story and finding myself thinking about it constantly, I did enjoy the book. I am glad to get to know Eve a bit better, as she was only mentioned in previous books. There was an interesting interpretation of the ghost world, and a take on Angels. ( )

REVIEW: This is the fifth book of my Kelley Armstrong’s Otherworld re-read. Haunted is the story of Eve Levine, the deceased mother of Savannah Levine. In this story, Eve, a ghost living in the realm of the dead, is given an assignment by the fates to catch an evil demonic spirit. With the help of an angel and the also deceased Kristoff Nast she sets off on a search throughout many different realms, meeting many interesting and terrifying characters along the way.

Eve is not my favorite of the Otherworld women, but this story was still interesting and engaging. Some of the images were really disturbing and graphic, but not so much that it entirely scared me away. It was also interesting to get to see a bit of the mythology of Armstrong’s afterlife, which we’d only seen in small snippets to this point in scenes with Jaime, the necromancer.

This book was a little bit on the long side, but it went pretty quickly. I recommend to fans of Kelley Armstrong, and to fans of urban fantasy and strong women. ( )

The fifth book in Kelley Armstrong's "Women of the Otherworld" series, we follow Eve into the Afterlife, and see exactly what happens when supernaturals pass on. This book adds even more to the worldbuilding, showing us where deceased werewolves go, witches, demons, criminals and more. The story itself follows Eve as a bounty-hunter, as she learns to find an Afterlife of her own while rekindling with her former lover, and helping balance the afterlife. ( )

ok so in my honest opinion, this one truly sucked compared to the ones I've read so far... It took me forever to read this and it never takes me this long to read a book, unless I'm not digging it and stuggling to finish it because there is more to the series and I don't want to get lost in some minor detail from a previous book I didn't read. But I'm glad Eve and Kris got back together and are all lovey dovey and stuff, the whole half demon, becoming an angel ehhh a little too far fetched for me but hey whatever it worked in this case. Basically I just didn't feel it like I did the other books in the series so far. ( )

I read books 1-3, didn't have 4, and jumped right into book 5 and everything still made enough sense to really enjoy the story. I liked the characters and how it had such a different plot than all the others. ( )
