Book description
Ace Abbott invites both pilots and laymen to join him for a wild ride along an implausible and improbable aviation adventure in his new book, the second edition of The Rogue Aviator: In the Back Alleys of Aviation. The primary theme of this book is the author's adventuresome aviation career that is filled with jaw-dropping aviation anecdotes. The book provides the reader with an experienced (25 employers) insider's view of the aviation industry. An additional theme is the current front and center aviation news issue of pilot fatigue and its effect on aviation safety.

This primer in AVIATION REALITY is a tell-all memoir of a fun-loving pilot's tumultuous career—entertaining and informative, but spiced with humor, pathos, and poignancy, along with tidbits of debauchery. The story line travels from five-star hotels and restaurants in Paris to greasy cargo ramps and South American jails.

Ace's diversified aviation career began in the Air Force, where he served in the Far East as an F-4 Phantom pilot. The pulse-racing fighter-jet stories are followed by eight years of even more scintillating flying experiences during his tenure as a Learjet pilot based in South Florida, while flying to Latin America and the Caribbean. His passengers varied from unsavory drug dealers to Palm Beach trust-fund socialites and iconic celebrities. Ace's twenty-two years and 11,000 hours as a Boeing 727 Captain with numerous airlines is also filled with aviation adventure stories and reveals the demanding nuances of life as a professional pilot.

ce spent his first 22 years on a small farm in the scenic Finger Lake Region of upstate New York but his 36-year career took him to 44 countries, and most of the world's major cities: Hong Kong, Tokyo, Paris, London, etc. His vast variety of aviation experiences will leave the reader both entertained and amazed.
