I love the use of illustrations and pull out tabs in this book. The book is set up nicely and is very easy to navigate through. The illustrations will keep kids engaged and interested through out the book. ( )

This was a fantastic book. The full-page color paintings were beautiful and detailed, and the small pencil sketches were informative and accurate. I love the way the author explained factual details of the animals and their habitats in a very understandable way. I also love that concepts of weather and latitutde are briefly described, so children can get an understanding of why and where these animals live how they do.

Jim Arnosky proves that animals living in the arctic have extreme lives. Everything they do requires a great deal of effort. From obtaining their food to just staying warm the arctic is a harsh place. This nonfiction book has wonderful illustrations and facts about animals. ( )
