This latest short story is part of a collection which you can get for free if you sign up for the author's newsletter. If you enjoyed the Seventeen series, I recommend getting these short stories.

The Meeting tells about the meeting between Lucas and his partner Reid from the first book in the series. Reid was having a bad day already before he saw a man get shot in the had. It gets even weirder when this man later just walks away like nothing ever happened. It's the start of their companionship.

Like the other short stories this one was enjoyable and gave some background on the lives of the characters before the series starts. However, if you were to ask me if I consider these stories a real addition to the plot, I'm not that sure. I think I'd prefer a new full length novel over multiple of these shorts any time. ( )
