Disambiguation notice
The Atlas of Fantasy was first published by The Mirage Press of Baltimore, Md in 1973 (isbns 088358011X or 0883581086). Then in 1979 a thoroughly revised edition was issued by Ballantine Books -- isbns 0345273990 (US) or 0285624245 (UK) -- with the legend "New Revised Edition" displayed prominently on the cover. For this edition a number of inferior maps were dropped, a number of new maps were added, and a number of those retained were re-drawn or re-photographed. Post wrote a new preface for it and Ballantine publisher Lester del Rey wrote an introduction.

Please keep these significantly different editions separate.
