One fugitive. A deadly plot. No rules. Thus begins an ingenious and lightning-fast audiobook thriller that reviewers agree is "not to be missed." Detective Sergeant Matthew Ryan wants to clear the name of his former boss, who stands accused of official corruption. But before he can do so, his boss disappears. Did he escape from police custody, or was he kidnapped? Or did something even worse happen to him?The Silent Room has everything a good thriller should have-compelling characters, a gripping plot and storyline, superb pacing, and a strong sense of place. In addition it has heart, something many thrillers sorely lack. Add some truly scary villains, vast uncertainty about whom to trust, and a loudly ticking clock, and we have ourselves a thriller that will grip listeners from the first chapter and never let go.… (more)

That was a nasty ending. ( )

I loved this book, not having read any previous Mari Hannah. It was absorbing from beginning to end and I will look for the next in the series. ( )

In looking at my notes for this book (I read it a couple of weeks ago) I really have to laugh. They read:

Lots of action
Whiny ass cop
Good cop goes rogue or he thought he has
Good characters
Do guys always think like this?

Pardon my momentary lapse of review.

I really like this story a lot. The characters were very likable and I connected right away. The action begins like on the third or fourth page and doesn't stop until the very end.

A carefully plotted and utterly absorbing read that had me mesmerized from page 3 and on.

Thanks to St. Martin's Press and Net Galley for providing me with a free e-galley in exchange for an honest, unbiased review. ( )
