An empowering story that mixes romance and politics. Ms. Hodges writes female characters that have a sensuous aura but are also role models in other areas. Chante is a woman who will not be anyone's arm candy. She loves with her entire being but she will not be made a fool of. She knows what she wants and goes after it wholeheartedly. Chante and Zach are mirror images of each other personality wise. I received an ARC of I Heard a Rumor in exchange for an honest review. ( )
