Quite a touching and lovely little story. Nothing startlingly original, but really well-handled. Lucy is a young ghost who has no memory of her life except a recall of overwhelming evil. She teams up with a a handsome gamekeeper who is able to see her and who likewise has no memories of his past, but has the feeling he and Lucy were involved in some way during her life. They must rediscover what happened to them and defeat the evil spirit of the hall's former owner so Lucy can be freed, but along the way, find themselves falling in love. I really enjoyed this book, one of the best ghost stories I've read in a long time. Formulaic of course, but well worth a read nevertheless. ( )
