This book is geared towards younger elementary students.

This book is about a boy who is upset because of the bad weather outside. His mom begins to draw a picture about a rainy day; he eventually joins her. Then they go outside and enjoy the rain together. ( )

Puddle is a cute novel about a little boy who hates the rain since it prevents him from doing fun things like soccer and more. The mother suggests if he would like to draw and he says no at first, but then his mother makes it so fun that he wants to draw too and they draw a fun adventure of a rainy day where they splash in puddles. They decide to make the adventure real and go on a walk in the rain. This is a great book for primary readers.

For beginning readers. The illustrations are beautifully made by colored pencils. A mother and son draw together on a rainy day, and use their imagination. Then they go on a walk together. This book is very fun and lighthearted. It would be cute to read on a rainy day. ( )

"Puddle" was precious! It begins on a rainy day with a little boy bored and upset with nothing to do. The mother sits down to draw and he refuses, however after the boy sees what the mom is drawing, he wants a say and a part of it too. Before you know it, they've made up an entire story and illustration about being outside on a rainy day. The illustrations are simple, hand drawn and compliment the book so well. One of my favorite things about this book is that there were no quotation marks or "mama said" anywhere in the text. They simply made the words black when the little boy was talking and red for when the mother was speaking. Those little things make such a difference to a reader. The book ended with them ACTUALLY going outside to jump in real puddles instead of drawn ones. Cute and imaginative. ( )
