Lovely book about extended nursing. Would love to see more books like this one, discussing the issues and concerns of mothers who are nursing past the one year mark. ( )

I think I enjoyed this book well enough, but didn't really learn a whole lot that was new. By the time my son was a toddler, I don't think I really had too many issues with nursing; I'd decided on the way our lifestyle would be, so I didn't have many questions for a book like this. ( )

Epigraph
Dedication
First words
When I first saw a walking child nurse back in the 1960s, I was horrified -- horrified at the kind of sacrifices the mother must be making for her child, horrified at what I saw as the obscenity of it, and horrified at the lack of good parental management that had let this thing go on so long. [Introduction, 3rd edition]
It may seem strange at first that a child who sits at the family table at mealtimes and is into the refrigerator many times in between would also ask his mother for nursing several times a day -- and night. [3rd edition]
