Fanfiction- Teen Wolf - Sterek
Wolf Derek is one of my favorite kinds of Derek. Knowing his tragic history and his complicated life at present, it is not at all surprising that he would prefer the simple life of a dog ... er, I mean wolf.

Ever find yourself chatting with your pet because they are good listeners (and they can't share any of your secrets)? Ever snuggle with them in bed for their easy companionship? This is an oddly sweet(?), intimate(?) look at the Stilinski's and their ... Derek.

One day, in front of Scott and Stiles, Derek turns into a full real wolf (surprising everyone including himself). And apparently just decides to stay that way. For some reason (unknown to the Stilinskis at least), he shows up at Stiles' house ... and becomes their family pet. The moments between Stiles and !Wolf Derek are sweet - very Norman Rockwell - esque "boy and his dog" evoking. Cuddling in bed, comforting during a thunderstorm, etc. But the moments that really stood out to me are the parts between the Sheriff and !Wolf Derek. Derek seeking the Sheriff approval in the manner a dog does - wanting to be pet and do right - very much beta seeking approval of an alpha I'd say. Man and his dog. The Stilinskis never forget that the wolf is Derek, but Derek is very much their pet, and he seems content with that.

It is totally PG, super quick read, implied Sterek only, a quiet feel good read. ( )
