Kathy Miller, our main character,is an only child and widowed. Her parents die and she sells the family home to start new life with her cat Eli.Sometimes she is independent as in selling her family home but many times she is whiney and has no self esteem. She is easily led and manipulated. She takes a new job with a corrupt and nasty man, even tho she has been warned.Tom Morgan,(our knight in shiny armour in a white pickup truck) works for the firm. Despite all odds, they have to be together. The plot revolves around Kathy's new life, new job working for a corrupt businessman.
I had some problems with the author's views of single, widowed women. In her mind, women can't be alone and happy, they must be attached to a strong male hero who saves them from their life of pity and loneliness.
Predictable storyline and ending.A fast read.Very nice description of the WNY area.

SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT SPOILER ALERT
