It will appeal to Grade 5 and immature Year 8s. The text is interspersed with changes in font to provide emphasis and illustrations. Sam has an annoying baby sister called Yelly/Smelly/Jelly Melly and his mother has a Pomeranian dog that Sam refers to as Fluff Butt - both of which seem to just be poop machines.
This is the first book in the series and the shortest. In it, Sam finds a tunnel under his father's shed. Will this tell him what happened to his dad who disappeared?
There are quite a few editing errors in this book - i.e - incorrect or repeated words. It is also pretty light on for plot and Sam seems to repeat himself a lot. I would be interested to see what the kids think of it. (
