We read through it in about a day and a half, passing it around in a circle with everyone reading a page or so. Because I had such a great time reading it, I wanted to like it, really I did. And it does do a very fine job of cramming in as many facts as are possible in 192 pages. Yet, it hardly offered anything new -- no unique or particularly intriguing anecdotes. And it failed to attain any depth as a serious history. But! It is very good as a brief overview or if one wishes to brush up on certain general aspects of Church history. It's not outstanding, but it is one of the better histories that I have seen. ( ) no reviews | add a review
