Ok entry for this series. A lot of Sam and Remi getting into trouble; then shooting or thinking their way out of it. This plot worked better later with the Gray Ghost. ( )

Pirate is the 8th book in the Fargo Adventure series by Cussler (although mostly by Robin Burcell it would seem). It's a romp on the trail of treasure beginning in America with a historic book and proceeding through Brazil, Jamaica and England.

It's standard fare for what you expect with a Cussler novel, there's the historic setting at the beginning then unfolding action and adventure as the story develops with some twists and turns that whilst keep the narrative moving aren't really that spectacular.

I noted one error however in the unfolding story, in one section it states "The drawback, if his men were seriously injured in that accident, is that Avery would just send someone else." it's also mentioned again that the men survived "the car accident" yet no car accident had taken place that I can recall. Maybe the accident was removed in editing but they forgot to update the follow on narratives?

That being said, it's an entertaining book that won't disappoint if you're a fan of the series. ( )
