Kirja on Palkkasoturit -sarjan toinen osa, joka keskittyy salamurhaaja Artemis Entrerin ja musta haltia Jarlaxlen seikkailuihin. Tällä kertaa kaksikko suuntaa Noitakuninkaan linnaan, mutta matkalla he törmäävät mm. ärtyisään kääpiö Athrogateen, lohikäärmesisariin ja muihin yllätyksiin... ( )

Another adventure of Jarlaxe and Artemis this time vs a living evil castle (really). Quite entertaining but just for fans.... ( )

Jarlaxle and Artemis Entreri are adventuring again. This time they find themselves in the wasteland of Vaasa, working for dragon sisters in the recovery of ancient artifacts of the long dead Zhengyi.

One of the most action packed books I have read. Very enjoyable in seeing some of Salvatores characters other than the heroes of the hall. Can not wait to read Road of the Patriarch. ( )

This novel is about 2 recurring characters from the Drizz't series of books - but not any of the good guys. The evil Jarlaxle and Artemis have set off together to do... something. Why one completely evil and one completely chaotic pair of self-centered loners would get together for any reason really isn't demonstrated in this book. Jarlaxle seems to determined to help Artemis find his secret purpose in life, as if killing for hire wasn't really his purpose. Given the fact that in previous books, these two are some of the deadliest killers in the whole world, the idea that they would wander off and become bounty hunters in a contest, and not win, is a bit far-fetched. The action is good, but the plot is just not very convincing, and these two really can't carry a novel. Anyone who rates this book highly must enjoy books about evil characters doing cool stuff for no good reason. ( )

The smallish man skated along the magically greased, downward sloping corridor, his feet moving in short stabs to continue scrabbling ahead and keep him upright--no easy task.
