Niño, the young Lucha Libra wrestler from author/illustrator Yuyi Morales' Niño Wrestles the World, returns in this second picture-book adventure, this time facing off against his most challenging adversary yet: his two baby sisters. A pair with some powerful weapons, from farts to dirty diapers, the Horrendous Hermanitas are almost defeated, but their terrible wailing eventually wins the day, as Niño is eventually captured, and put to work reading them a story...

I was unaware that Rudas: Niño's Horrendous Hermanitas was a sequel, when I picked it up. To my surprise, given the fact that I almost always enjoy Yuyi Morales' work, I found myself mostly indifferent to the story, although I can certainly see how children who enjoy potty humor and/or are interested in Mexican wrestling, might find it a lot of fun. Perhaps if I'd read the first book first, I would have felt more invested. However that might be, I did (as always) enjoy the artwork, which was colorful, vivid and immensely engaging. Recommended to Morales fans, and to anyone looking for picture-books about Lucha Libra. They might also seek out Lucía the Luchadora and Lucía the Luchadora and the Million Masks, which feature a girl wrestler in this vein. ( )

Unique story of two sisters. Great illustrations. Fun bi-lingual story with the Spanish meanings and pronunciation on the end papers. Children will enjoy these siblings! ( )

In an attempt to find more cultural focused books, I picked this one up. It was funny and charming tale of siblings and wrestling two things that very important within the Mexican community. The book is illustrated in bright colors and dynamic illustrations. A very fun read that anyone with siblings will definitely identify with.

What an adorable story! A boy and his two baby sisters pretend they're wrestlers/superheroes and have a blast. This book is in English and Spanish. I loved the illustrations. They were entertaining and done in a comic book style. This book would be great for bilingual children even if it doesn't tell the story in Spanish, it certainly adds color to the story. ( )

It is a book about Children who are pretending to be wrestlers and they are fighting make-believe with each other. However only at the end of the story we see that. It is also a bilingual Spanish picture book that kids can read when they are starting to learn Spanish.
