My son's all time favorite Madeline book. He laughed so hard! And not just once. But EVERY time we read the book.

Mischievious little bugger that Bad Hat! Better than Calvin and Hobbes or Dennis the Menace. ( )

The ambassador to Spain's son moves next door to Madeline. He is quite rude and does mean things to the girls and animals. One day he brings a cat out and then summons all the dogs but instead of the cat getting hurt the cat hurts him and Miss Cavel saves the boy just in time. The boy then has a change of ways and becomes kind.
Being mean and unkind will not help you with friends.

Madeline and the Bad Hat is a story about being misunderstood and having to make changes in order to make people feel comfortable around you. The artwork is beautiful, and it's written in rhyme and meter.
